I was wondering how everyone actually started sewing. My mother could hardly sew on a button with a needle and thread. When I was in my early 20s, my husband(at the time), gave me a sewing machine for my birthday. I thought to myself "Ugh! What am I going to do with this?". I've been sewing ever since (30 years) and divorced from him for 27 years. I've often stated, giving me the sewing machine is the only truly good thing he did for me! But seriously, what's your story?
